Reef Revolution Kalkwasser
Reef Revolution’s Kalkwasser is a premium-grade, pure calcium hydroxide, providing an effective and time-tested solution for maintaining the correct ratio of calcium and carbonate levels in your growing reef aquarium. This balanced dosing method supports the demands of corals, coralline algae, and other calcium-dependent inhabitants while helping to stabilize pH.
Due to the low solubility of calcium hydroxide, Kalkwasser must be mixed with RODI water and dosed via an auto top-off (ATO) system or with a dedicated Kalkwasser reactor for consistent delivery.
WARNING:
Kalkwasser is highly caustic and can cause severe burns. Always wear gloves and face protection, and avoid inhaling dust. If exposed, seek medical attention immediately.
Instructions for Use:
- Low-Stocked Aquarium: Mix 0.75 g of Kalkwasser per 1 L of RODI water.
- Medium-Stocked Aquarium: Mix 1.12 g of Kalkwasser per 1 L of RODI water.
- Highly-Stocked Mixed Reef Aquarium: Mix 1.5 g of Kalkwasser per 1 L of RODI water.
For aquariums with high calcium and carbonate demands, prepare a highly saturated solution using a Kalkwasser reactor. Once mixed, do not stir the solution again, and ensure the container is sealed to prevent contamination.
To maintain optimal water chemistry, frequently test calcium, alkalinity, and pH levels to monitor depletion and adjust dosing as needed. Do not add Kalkwasser directly to the aquarium—always mix in a separate container and allow it to be dosed gradually with your ATO system as water evaporates.
